Call for Applications: Palestine Youth Climate Justice Training

PENGON FoE Palestine is implementing the project “Youth for Environmental and Climate Justice in Palestine” in partnership with the Heinrich Böll Foundation - Palestine and Jordan. The project aims to develop the knowledge and capacities of Palestinian environmental and climate youth activists, university students, and other interested youth on climate-related issues to amplify their voices in shaping national climate change policies and contribute to international advocacy on climate justice in Palestine.

Three-Day Youth Climate Capacity-Development Training Workshop

PENGON will organize a three-day capacity-development training workshop for 25 Palestinian youth climate activists, university students, and other interested youth from the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The training will aim to develop their knowledge on climate change and climate-related national priorities as well as to develop their advocacy skills.

Upon completion of this training workshop, you will walk away with:

1 An in-depth knowledge of the historical background of climate change, global climate injustices, the progression of climate agreements, and current climate negotiation processes at the level of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

2 An understanding of how climate change affects Palestinians in the context of occupation and the skills to advocate for Palestinian environmental rights and climate justice in Palestine.

3 Leadership tools for driving collective action and collaboration to effectively address climate adaptation actions and engage in a climate policy making at the national level.

This programme is for you if you are:

  • A Palestinian between the ages of 18-35 with an educational background in environmental or social sciences or other relevant fields who are motivated to collaborate with other youth to work towards climate justice in Palestine.
  • Motivated and interested in developing knowledge and skills on climate change, UNFCCC processes and climate action in general.
